All best wishes for happy relationships, -Jessica and Aaron
Almost every morning, Aaron and I throw on our workout gear and head out the door for some exercise and what we call "Group Gratitude." It's a great way to kill two birds with one stone...well, three, really! Not only are we doing good for our bodies, but also for our mental and emotional states. It's always a great thing to start off your day at least thinking about what you're grateful for in your life. Make every day Thanksgiving! And if you have the opportunity to do this with your partner, then you're doing something fantastic for your relationship! Telling each other what you're grateful for, speaking it aloud, will bring you closer and make you stronger as a couple. And if you throw in a little "I'm so grateful for my awesome hubby/wife," well, you'll probably make your partner's day...and they'll make yours in return. So go get grateful...TOGETHER!
I saw a couple walking down the street today holding hands and thought to myself, "what a simple and powerful thing to do with your spouse."
Too often we overlook these simple gestures that can build a lasting and steady closeness within your relationship or marriage. When we first meet our partner, we are all too happy to be 'touchy-feely', but sometimes that can fade away after time. For some of us it can be 3 months, 6 months, etc. but then it dissipates. Here's a secret - that happens to every couple. The good news is that an easy fix exists. Whereas it was once natural and now takes some work, don't become discouraged. Just make a conscious effort to actively work on keeping all parts of your relationship - including little physical pieces - as fresh and new as the beginning. Your partner will reciprocate and you will find a joy most people never reach - the time in a relationship after the 6 month newness wears off and you feel closer than ever.
